Bernie Schnieders

 

Bernie Schnieders, age 49 years, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 10, 2005.

Bernie will be missed in our fishing community. Bernie loved his walleye fishing but he holds a world record live release smallmouth bass. Bernie will be remembered at the Shebandowan Smallmouth Showdown each year by awarding the Bernie Schnieders Memorial Big Bass Award

Bernie Schnieders was born and raised in Thunder Bay and is an avid fishing enthusiast!

Bernie is an outdoors writer and photographer, a field editor for Ontario Out of Doors Magazine, and writes for local magazines and newspapers.

Bernie competed in Masters Walleye Circuit (MWC) sanctioned tournaments, including a second place finish at the 1989 South Dakaota Governor's Cup on Lake Oahe.

Bernie is a former co-host of the Superior Fishing Show, and has presented Fishing First seminars and promotions since 1990.

Bernie is a Berkley, Fenwick and Abu-Garcia Ambassador and is a Princecraft Pro-staff.

Bernie enjoys travelling and fishing for most species, and he is a trophy walleye specialist as well as an ardent steelheader!
