JAMES SMEDLEY James Smedley is a full time freelance photographer and writer contributing to U.S. and Canadian newspapers, books and magazines. His writing and images are regularly published in Ontario Out of Doors Magazine where he is the Backroads columnist and Field Editor. James is also a regular contributor to Thunder Bay’s Chronicle Journal and Sault Ste Marie’s Sault Star.
Since 1996 Smedley’s writing has earned him 12 National writing awards. Smedley fishes a few bass and walleye tournaments a year to keep his skills honed and offers three-hour walleye, trout and multi-species ice fishing seminars. As a photojournalist of outdoor lifestyles Smedley has thousands of four-season stock images on file to fill a wide range of outdoor image needs. He will also go on assignment and on location to get any specific shot required. Final images are available as slides, prints, or digital files on CD sized to specification. James Smedley Outdoors has partnered with Wilderness Helicopters to provide aerial photographs of virtually anything within even the most remote reaches of the Province.
